Important PSA, Please Read

There’s an… entity loose on the web.

On a video streaming site, you might see him- no, it under a name like PaulPLAYSGameCraftToyRhymes.

At first glance, any video it produces will seem normal; an intro with a phrase like “Hello, everyone, it’s so-and-so”, and a little facecam in the upper left or right corner.

The first sign that something’s awry is the game being played; random gameplay elements and assets from other games will show up, and even things that aren’t even from a video game.

The end result will most likely be something like this: DOOM Dragon Edition, but with an overlay of Sonic: Eternity’s Light playing at the same time, while Doomslayer is mowing down hordes of evil Nursery Rhyme-spouting demons with untextured Sheriff Woody models (though the latter half of that statement is honestly a game I would play).

Another sign is when rewinding the video shows something different from what just played out. That’s because it’s not actually streaming anything; it’s just manifesting itself on your screen. It’s imitating what a video does.

If you even suspect you may have encountered this thing in any form whatsoever, drop whatever you’re doing and IMMEDIATELY clear out your browser cache, your cookies, your Temp folder, basically anything CCleaner would get rid of.

Second, unplug it, and move it away from any other object containing information of any kind in your home, if possible. This is crucial. You do not want this thing getting in your books, your photos, anything.

Third, contact a fae you reasonably trust, who doesn’t demand absurd things like childhood memories or unborn children to get rid of any remnants. Whatever they charge, make damned sure that it’s something tangible you can pay them up-front with. Produce of some kind typically works.

Lastly, when the last of it is gone, put up a ward of some kind. An iron talisman (for example, a horseshoe) and a circle of salt around the machine in question seem to work with this particular entity. These two things also work as preventative measures. Please spread the word around about this.

    1. Oh, hey!

Glad someone still thinks of that post. ^,=,^ I'm assuming you mean part 3, as part 2 already exists here. https://paphvulslair.blogspot.com/2019/12/windows-shareware-disk-showcase.html

As for Part 3, I'll get on it, one of these days. I made decent headway into making one, but it stalled for various reasons. I know 2021 has been a very unproductive year in general for this blog, but I haven't abandoned it.
